The Masters is one of the most unusual events in sports. It's all about tradition, defined by a set of unique rules and customs that just doesn't exist outside the gates of the Augusta National.

To locals, it is simply the tournament.  To the world, it is Augusta. It doesn't have fans - those lucky few who get to attend every year are patrons.  And it doesn't have rough - here it's the second cut. Entering these hallowed grounds has been likened to entering a cathedral.

The Masters Tournament is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, it is the first of the majors to be played each year. Unlike the other major championships, the Masters is played each year at the same location.
